Most international visitors are required to obtain a tourist (L) or non-commerce (F) visa before travelling to mainland China. Visa Application Process:
The following step-by-step guide is designed to assist non-Chinese residents in applying for entry visas.
1. Fill out the online visa application form. Once completed, please print out the visa application form and confirmation page and sign them.
2. Visit the website of China Visa Application Service Center to make an online appointment for submitting your application. Print the "Visa Appointment
Confirmation Form”. (Please note that British or U.S. citizens do not require an appointment).
3. Submit your application materials in person and provide fingerprints at the embassy, following the designated time.

4. Wait four working days for the consulate to review your visa application (excluding the day of submission, weekends, and consulate holidays).
5. Once your visa is issued, you can retrieve your passport.
